Benedictine nuns bump “erotic soundtrack” off top chart spot
By Hilary White
This pleaseth me.
From Wiki:
_“Both their first two albums of their recorded chants and hymns reached number 1 on the classical traditional Billboard charts in 2013, displacing ‘Fifty Shades of Grey: The Classical Album,’ a musical tie-in to the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
“As of 9 August 2013, the group’s second album Angels and Saints at Ephesus reached the number 1 position on the Billboard traditional classical albums chart for 13 weeks,[7] a record duration on that chart since 2006.”
Heh.
I know the superior. I met her and her companion one afternoon when we were all trying to get into the parish in Rome. For some reason, no one was around that day to open the doors before the evening Mass. The sisters were in town for some meetings or other, and had intended to visit the FSSP parish a bit before Mass to sing Vespers. But being locked out, they had decided to chant it on the steps instead. I and two friends came up just as they were starting. I tried calling the paroco to let us in, but he wasn’t answering. Eventually we gave up and Mother Cecilia taught me to sing the Vespers hymn for the day.
After Mass we all went out for Chinese, and had a great time.
