For a second I couldn’t remember where I’d seen it before…

The cathedra of Detroit Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament

It just reminded me of something…

It was just on the tip of my brain…

Couldn’t quite…

Oh yeah!

Sticking to Star Trek, the shape of Mudd’s throne reminds me of the peculiar angularity of the passageways leading to the death chambers for war casualties in Season 1 Episode 23 “A Taste of Armageddon”.

In all seriousness, these people are afraid to die.
They are and have always been stuck in their youthful heyday.
They are afraid as the approach death. I would be, too, if I were them.

So, they wrench and drag the ’70s into their present.
Like Marley’s ghost dragging the ponderous chain.
