It’s not necessarily a conspiracy

When I first started working in show biz, it was run by elderly Jewish men and middle-aged Jewish men. I really enjoyed those years. It was because of those men that we had the Family Hour and other family programming. And TV was smart, because they liked smart. In the going on four decades that I have worked in television, it has been taken over by mostly gay guys. As soon as the first few got jobs, they commenced to hire only other gay guys. When a show needed a new writer, they’d send a script from a gay guy who was trying to break in. That’s how they took over the business. I think about that story every time I read about a new papal appointment, and it makes the world make much better sense. I’m just sayin’.
