From the archives: The Hilary Thesis from 2014; the closing of the “conservative” middle ground
It was at least 15 years ago that I started noticing through my research and lobbying work that the “sides are lining up”. I had many discussions with colleagues about it, and we speculated with some trepidation on what the conflict would look like when that process of division was complete.
I submit we are coming to the end now of that preparatory phase, that was greatly accelerated by the current pontificate.

It’s not over til it’s over.
Sneak peek of my next for the Remnant print edition, to be made available online next week: “The unique horror of the Bergoglian pontificate for laymen.”
A friend… “having married instead of going forward into the priesthood, took a degree at the late, lamented Pope John Paul II Institute, and began work in the great effort to restore the Church’s public voice on “life and family” matters. He has done this work for many years now, he has married and bought a house and now has four small children.

You can’t kill something whose nature it is to live
First time the traditional Mass was celebrated in this church in the US in 50 years. Celebration of the Feast of St. Stanislaus Kostka on November 18th
I think we have misunderstood the promise of Christ of the survival of the Church. You can’t kill something whose nature it is to live. The Faith is like life itself; life is designed to live. It might not make it in this or that particular place, and it may go through periods of such reduction that we would hardly recognise it, but it can’t be killed.

Chant and art
A palate cleanser. While the Latin Church is under this ferocious persecution by the devil, there are still places where God and the Incarnate Word are honoured.
(The wooden sound at the beginning is the monk hammering on a wooden plank, a replacement of bells which were prohibited during Islamic occupation. The hammering of the plank took its place among the great objects of monastic art.

“Crucified cow” in a Belgian Catholic Church – not fake news
It’s an “installation” sculpture.
Yes, it’s in a still-consecrated Catholic Church.
Yes, it’s real dead cow. Painted white. The shiny white surface in the foreground is a big pool of milk.
It’s been installed in the church of Saint John the Baptist of Kuttekoven, in the Flemish town of Borgloon. In case you’re really interested, here’s some more work by the man who did it. Click on it if you really need to be more outraged than you already are, but really, I’d recommend against it.

Two religions; one Church? – the infiltration of the Modernist Anti-Christ
“…We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through I do not think that wide circles of American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully: we are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church: of the gospel against the anti gospel. We must be prepared to undergo great trials in the not-too-distant future, trials that will require us to be ready to give up even our lives and a total gift of self to Christ and for Christ.

<whirrrclick>Cease all anti-social conduct…
I told them to stuff it, so they’ve scolded me again!
This is the world of the SJWs, wagging their fingers at normal people like we’re all in kindergarten. They really do think this is their natural role in society; to correct naughty children.
“If you keep being naughty, we’re going to send you to bed without supper for the WHOLE WEEK.
And yet, I am reminded, this gentleman still appears to get a free pass.

Douthat reaches for the Red Pill
I’ll just start by saying, yes, I know this is a year old. But it’s quite interesting, since Douthat, the New York Times’ token conservative Catholic, is showing rather strong signs of Tradding.
Ross Douthat is possibly the most prominent member of the “conservative” class of Catholic in the Anglosphere who is clearly realising the failures of this position. Keeping an eye on Douthat’s movement from prominent “conservative,” (though more polite about his disagreements with Traditionalists than most) to an increasingly traddie-sounding position has been very interesting.

Prods: Completely. Failing. to get it since 1517
Now it’s true that there have been some proddies – the kind who like to make apocalyptic videos on Youtube – who have been on to this guy from day one. And good on em. Well done youse.
But this made me laugh out loud.
“Vatican Jesuits are using this celebration [of the 500th anniversary] as a vehicle to destroy Protestant Christianity.”
When your analysis so completely fails that it’s laugh-out-loud funny.
