Pippy update
An afternoon on buses and in waiting rooms later, and we’re OK. The very kind team of vets and trainees were extremely nice to us, and gave him a sonogram. There were no intestinal blockages, but an inflammation of his small intestine that has given him a fever. The thing I was most worried about was that he’d dug a chicken bone out of the bin. It’s Pippin’s life’s work to tip over the bin and find something good, and I’d made chicken soup this weekend.

“Traditional Catholicism is the only answer” – an Archboldian call to arms
A while ago I asked my friend Pat Archbold if he would like to contribute some thoughts to our “What do we do now?” question.
But in the meantime, we fight. There is no fleeing to the hills in hopes that we will be left alone there to rebuild Christianity. The enemy would never allow it. We must fight them on everything. What’s the goal?
The recovery of all Truth and return fully to traditional Catholicism in its liturgy and formulations of the Truth and every promulgated falsehood, whether direct or indirect, must be purged from the Church.

Vigano, Wim Wenders and the Cool Kids Club: the Vatican re-boot continues
So, now people are all upset that Vigano didn’t really get the sack.
Father Zed writes about it moderately huffily. Though I see that even he can’t get himself a full head of steam on this.
The face of a man who Does. Not. Care. what we think. See, they don’t think the way we do. In their eyes, Vigano didn’t “screw up” at all. He made a clever decision to help the pope and we bloggers and news people – always sticking our noses where they don’t belong – screwed it up for him.

The cardinals are not what they seem…
At last, the truth comes out!
The Benedict who wrote The Letter isn’t the real Benedict…
WHAT a relief! I mean, if this hadn’t come to light, we might have been tempted to think absolutely ANYthing was possible! We might have been left posting ridiculous nonsense on Twitter about how he’s being coerced! Like, someone was threatening or blackmailing him! We might even have had to conclude he was being dishonest in that contradictory letter.

The Benedict Letter | Vatican Legal Threat vs. Infovaticana
Really just Steve and me jawing about how annoying everyone is. I don’t really know if I said anything useful. Then Mike Hichborn talking about how weird it is that Parolin is using one of the biggest law firms in the world to go after Info Vaticana, and what the hell is up with that, anyway?
I actually don’t really see the point of podcasts in general.

From Ratzinger to Bergoglio, just the next step in the logical “progression”
Most of my week last week was taken up with this piece for the Remnant:
Et Tu, Benedict? (Some Final Thoughts on Joseph Ratzinger) Why did Benedict resign? Why has he sat by passively while the Bergoglians eat the Church? And in a larger sense, why was Kasper never disciplined or removed from the College of Cardinals? Why were all the men whose names we know only too well allowed to continue attacking the Faith and the faithful for so many long years?

It’s Henry Purcell Sunday! Rejoice in the Lord Alway!
And again, I say rejoice!
(Yes, I know it’s for Advent but it’s my favourite Purcell ever, so any excuse will do.)

Catholics without priests; the solitary pursuit of holiness
Continuing on with our little collection of responses to my question, “What do we do?” an interesting response comes via the WUWTS FB page.
Alert Reader Lynn Loring writes:
“Every good Catholic should read this. The answers needed are in this. This is my plan. I’m ready. I’ve been studying and receiving the Sacraments. I’ve been learning to pray without ceasing. The contents of this article will carry me through.

“Ye shall be as gods”: what do the murder of Desdemona, abortion and Communion in the hand all have in common?
Mike Matt has posted to the website a piece I wrote some time ago for the print edition of the Remnant.
It’s about lying.
“Divinity of hell! When devils will the blackest sins put on,
they do suggest at first with heavenly shows.” English literature provides many studies of human evil, but perhaps the most poignant and appalling of all is Iago, Shakespeare’s villain of the Tragedy of Othello. Iago provides us with an examination of St.

It’s complicated…
I’ve been a bit slow with the posting here lately. Sorry. Been doing a lot of work-for-pay elsewhere.
Go see my take on the non-event of Ladaria finally piping up.
And here for some background on why Communion in the hand is so important: “No, it’s not trivial, Mr. Peters.” And why it’s a keyhole issue: look through that keyhole and you won’t be a “conservative” for long.
to such a person, reception in the hand or reception kneeling and on the tongue is a matter of personal preference that has no effect on anything.
